메인보드 부팅 지연관련

하드도 연결안하고 부팅하는데도 Disk failure 메시지 까지 1분 넘게 걸리는건 다른 문제가 아닐려나?

아무튼 ASUS AMD 메인보드 AS를 맡고 있는 디지털그린텍에 전화하니
BIOS 5xxx 대나 1xxx 대의 펌웨어로 업데이트 해보거나 AS 보내라고 한다.
AS 정책상 중고구매던 상관없이 메인보드 자체의 AS 기간을 따지니까 일단 보내라는 착한 녀석들 -ㅁ-b

그리고 판매자에게 물어봤지만
450W 에 별다른 문제 없이 잘 쓰던 녀석이라 (단 IDE로는 안해봤다고 하지만) 갸우뚱 갸우뚱

아무튼.. 이 먼가 찜찜한 상황.. 후우..
ATI 그래픽 카드도 아니고 Geforce 8600GT x 2 인데도 왜이래?!

The M2N-E SLI motherboard indeed has a compatibility problem when using HD5xxx based ATI graphics adapters (I am using a Sapphire Radeon HD5770). It takes about 55 seconds and several hard drive and FAN spin-ups before the POST continues with its initial beep. After doing some analysis on that issue with my computer (measuring total power consumption, disconnecting all 12V and 5V consumers, checking the PSU's power-good signal, trying another PSU, ...) I was finally sure that this was not a problem of the PSU, which I had suspected initially. I also read that other ASUS boards (M2N-E, M2N-SLI, P5N32-SLI SE Deluxe, ...) suffered the same problem, for some a solution (BIOS patch) was available. So I decided to contact ASUS Germany support on that matter and after some mail exchange they too were convinced that the PSU is not to blame and forwarded the problem to Taiwan for deeper analysis. Two days ago I finally got a new BIOS (version 1205). I flashed it and the problems were gone. The mainboard now comes up normally, the 55 seconds delay has disappeared. I have already confirmed to ASUS that the BIOS is working, so I assume it will be available for download, soon. So, please do NOT try to flash a BIOS (such as M2N-E) that is not intended to be used on your mainboard type, even if the name is similar and therefore suggests it could be. The M2N-E SLI is a different board, the BIOS therefore has a different version number. I asked ASUS whether or not I can distribute this inofficial BIOS version. Do you have your HD and Optical Drive on the same IDE channel? If so, plug the HD into one channel and the optical drive in the other. Check to see that the HD is set to master and not cable select on the jumper settings. Also if you have multiple hard drives in the system, unplug the storage drive and see if the main drive smartens up. Hope that helps.
